- 12/17/2007: Exam 3 grades have been mailed out.
As in the past, we will hold a special office hour, on Wed,
12/19/07, from 10am to 12pm in SAL 222, for those who would
like to discuss the grading of their exam 3. If you're not
able to make it but would still like to discuss the grading
of your exam, please make an appointment with Ashish and Tao.
- 12/4/2007: To help students prepare for exam 3,
Ashish will also hold an additional office hour on Wed (12/5),
1-2:30pm.
- 12/1/2007: To help students prepare for exam 3,
Yuan's Thu (12/6) office hour has been moved to Mon, i.e., his office
hour on Mon (12/3) will be 4-5pm; his Wed office hour remains the
same as usual. Fan's office hours for the week will be moved to
Tue (12/4), 3:30-5:30pm.
- 11/29/2007: Lecture slides for Chapter 8 and outlines of
remaining discussions have been posted.
- 11/26/2007: Another re-grade office hour has been scheduled
for Thu, 11/29, 10:00am-12:00pm, in SAL 222.
- 11/26/2007: The instructor's office hours on Wed, 11/28,
have been cancelled due to PhD screening; the instructor is available
by appointment.
- 11/25/2007: The TAs are planning the exam 2 re-grade office
for Monday, 11/26, 8:45am-10:45am. However, they are still looking for
a room to hold it in. Please check SAL 222 and 322. If that time does
not work out due to lack of room availablability, this re-grade office
hour will be canceled. The TAs are also planning a second re-grade office
hour for later this week, likely on Thu, 11/29. Please watch this web
page for further information.
- 11/8/2007: To help students prepare for exam 2, Fan's
Tue (11/13) office hour has been moved to Fri, i.e., his office
hours on Fri (11/9) will be 3-5pm. Ashish's Tue (11/13) office
hour has been moved to Fri (11/9), 2-4pm. Yuan's Thu (11/15)
office hour has been moved to Mon (11/12), 4-5pm.
- 11/7/2007: There were a couple of typos in HW6 solutions
handed out during the discussion session. In Problem 6.5, "min" should
be "max", and "Quality(j..n)" should be "Quality(j..i)".
- 10/26/2007: Lecture slides for Chapter 7 and an outline of
Discussion 9 have been posted.
- 10/18/2007: Tao's second office hour (3:00-4:00pm)
on Monday (10/22/2007) has been moved up to this Friday (10/19/2007),
4:00-5:00pm, to accomodate student requests for exam 1 regrades.
That is, both Fan and Sun will be available this Friday (10/19/2007),
4:00-5:00pm, for exam 1 regrades.
- 10/16/2007: Lecture slides for Chapters 5 and 6 as well as outlines of Discussions 5 through 8 have been posted.
- 10/16/2007: Please note the change in the instructor's
office hours (see above).
- 10/5/2007: Please note the (permanent) change in Fan's
office hours (see above). Also, the instructor's office hours
for 10/10/07 will be from 12:00pm to 1:30pm.
- 10/2/2007: Exam 1 Reminder: you MUST bring your ID
to exam 1 on Thursday, 10/4/2007.
- 9/28/2007: The TAs will re-arrange their office hours
for the week of October 1st, to accomodate the exam schedule.
Fan's Fri (10/5/2007) office hours will move to Tue (10/2/2007),
3:30-5:30pm, and Yuan's Thu (10/4/2007) office hour will move
to Tue (10/2/2007), 4-5pm. The instructor will also move her
office hours this week, from Wed (10/3/2007) to Mon (10/1/2007),
2-3:30pm.
